The league is halfway through and Hornet FC is stand at the 4th place in the league table. Our opponent today is against Dunman All Stars FC.

The match started evenly with both teams having chances to score. In the 10th minute, a handball by Mervin gifted Dunman a penalty and their captain sent the ball into the bottom left corner. Hornet FC did not gave up and kept fighting hard. 10 minutes later, a beautiful through ball by Hazmi found Ruiqiang in the box and he calmly slot the ball past the goalkeeper for the equalizer. Hornet FC continued to press forward with Chuan Seng, Weiqiang having good chances to score. In the 23rd minute, it was the partnership between Chuan Seng and Weiqiang that gave Hornet FC the lead. Chuan Seng, after some good work down the right, squared the ball into the penalty box and Weiqiang was the 1st to react and he sent a lobbing shot past the goalkeeper. Dunman by now could only defend. 1 minute before half time, Caiyuan, out of nowhere, shot from the midfield line and lobbed the goalkeeper into the net.

In the 2nd half, Hornet FC continued to press forward in search of more goals. Hazmi, Amin and Ruiqiang all had chances to extend the lead but their goalkeeper was superb after half-time. Their goalkeeper and defense kept us in bay and we could not score. In the 78th minute, Dunman got a goal back and gave us a hard fight in the last 12 minutes but great defense from both teams kept the score at 3-2 till the final whistle.

After match thoughts: A sweet revenge for us and well done for securing this victory. Let’s continue to work hard and climb as high up the table as possible.
