After suffering the biggest defeat against Mean Machines FC last week, Hornet FC came back strongly to post their biggest victory since forming up with a 6-2 win against North-East Burghley FC.

Hornet FC was controlling the match with new boy, Hazmi pulling the strings in midfield. Hornet FC wasted no time in taking the lead when Kenny scored his 1st goal for Hornet FC inside the penalty box. Hornet FC continued to attack and in the 25th minute, North-East Burghley FC’s goalkeeper tried to dribble past Ah Seng but failed and Ah Seng dribbled into the goal. 2-0 up with Hornet FC in the driving seat. Another mistake by North-East Burghley FC’s goalkeeper saw Ruiqiang getting the loose ball and he drive in a shot past the goalkeeper. Hornet FC was determined to score as many goals as possible and 2 minutes before half time, Hazmi scored from inside the box which made a great debut for him.

The match continued the same way as the 1st half with Hornet FC dominating the proceeding. Hornet FC were raining shots at North-East’s goal but poor finishing led to the score to remain at 4-0 until 75th minute when Kenny floated in a free kick and Seow Chuan met it with a powerful header into the net. 2 mistakes though lead to North-East Burghley FC scoring 2 goals. Yusrizal, who replaced Hazmi, found the net with a long shot in the 88th minute to finally end any hope of a comeback by North East. A great victory for Hornet FC.

After match thoughts: A very great victory for the Hornets. Despite last week’s defeat, we came back strongly and it was a great result. Let’s continue to fight hard and climb up the league standing.
