Today as there is no match for Hornet FC, we arranged a friendly through Kenny’s contacts. The referee helped us arranged for the opponent.

Hornet FC started the match brightly. In the 6th minute, Ruiqiang met a cross by Binnson but he sent his shot over inside the 6 yard-box.. 3 minutes later, Amin had a long shot that just went over the bar. Hornet FC continued to control the game and in the 19th minute, Ruiqiang sent a diving header just wide of the post again following a cross by Ah Seng. The goal finally came in the 32nd minute when Razali sent a perfectly weighted ball to Kenny and he scored from outside the penalty box. Hornet FC continued to pressed forward in search for more goals. In the 37th minutes, Ruiqiang sent a freekick against the post. The opponent had to rely on counter attacks to threaten Boon Chen. In the 2nd half, the opponent changed most of their youngsters in and they began to threaten Hornet FC more. Both teams had lots of chances but were let down by poor finishing. In the 64th minutes, Seow Chuan had a shot that went just wide in the penalty area. 6 minutes later, the opponent capitalized on a mistake by Boon Chen to level the score. Boon Chen had saved the ball but somehow the ball slipped out and their striker slotted the ball in. Hornet FC continued to press forward to get the win but in the end, it ended 1-1 draw.

Both sides decided to take penalty shoot out and Hornet FC scored through Seow Chuan, Adrian, Mervin and Razali with Kenny missing. The opponent missed 2 penalties.

After match thoughts:
Overall, it was a great match and it helps to bond the team better. The team is capable of scoring more goals. So fight harder for our 1st win.
